I noticed something amusing today (er, last night... haven't slept yet... curse you, IG & LGS
Inline Image:

The lift switches on the Von Braun are manufactured by TetraCorp! (look close) who, as we all know from Shock 1, built the Powered Battle Armour used by the Centauri
Inline Image:
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/ubb/smile.gifAlso, we know that the systems on the Von Braun were built entirely by the TriOptimum corporation "and their wholly-owned subsidiaries."
Therefore TriOp must own TetraCorp.
(I guess the hacker had a bit of a grudge against TriOp after it was all over, to immediately attack one of their other companies...)
So... who wants SHODAN talking to them in their PBA?

Your analysis is perfect, excep for one fatal flaw:
"Charlene Angel, one-time Records and Accounting Manager for TetraCorp who defected to TriOptimum"
- The attribution of a quote in Terminal Access.
And someone couldn't really defect to another branch of the same company, could they? Hmmm... maybe TriOp bought out TetraCorp sometime during the gap between 1 and 2...

Or maybe "built entirely by the TriOptimum corporation and their wholly-owned subsidiaries" was a throwaway line in the intro and you're reading to much into the mythology. I'm sorry, I couldn't help it...

"So... Who wants SHODAN talking to them in their PBA?"
Well... Actually, the PBA voice is done by one Terri Brosius, a person of no little fame in these parts. Funny, that...

Right you are; curses... Well, so much for the grudge theory.
For that matter, I've also noticed the SS2 quote is actually "<em>Nearly</em> all developed by Trioptimum and its wholly-owned subsidiaries."
But hey, it's more fun my way

Well of <em>course</em> I am. Here, I think I have a spare 'fun' hypo around somewhere... Make sure you don't combine it with a 'beserk' dermal patch, though; we don't want a repeat of <em>that</em> incident...

I should have known

Digging up a really old one :joke:
But in the System Shock Intro you can actually see two Terra Novan dropships taking off from Citadel station while the shuttle carrying the hacker arrives to the airlock.

Yes indeed. There was actually a thread somewhere in the forums discussing this not so long ago, in fact (although I'm obviously not searching for the right terms, 'cause I can't find it, so I guess it's not surprising that you didn't turn it up either :)
I'd only ever noticed one of them before that, so the second one came as a surprise to me!
I think there's been plenty of confirmation over the years that there was no concerted effort to put these disparate games into a single coherent 'universe', so cross-over occurances like this are really just in-jokes for the developers and fans (or even simply cases of saving time and effort by utilising existing resources rather than making new ones), but they're certainly fun to see!
edit: Ah, (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1344093#1344093) here we are. I hadn't tried "drop-ship" hyphenated :) Seems the search functions aren't quite clever enough to deal with hyphens transparently...
If you look a few posts earlier in that same thread, you'll also find that one of the TN cutscenes features music that later showed up in System Shock 2 :)

Yep indeed.
There's also the interplanetary dropship-carrying ship from the TN:SFC intro movie which is departing the station as the shuttle arrives. It's before the closeup on the hangar, and the planet with the ring (Saturn in SS, Saara in TN:SFC?) might not be a coincidence either.
Now I'm off to hunt similar mugshots from both games... I need a new copy of TN:SFC before that, the old CD went krispy on me :(
