i (29) have played thief with my aunt since i was a child, and am an avid fan of the series, (tho my aunt is more of a fan, she even enjoyed the dreaded reboot), and i just recently started to get into the fan community.
i have major anxiety, both social, and minority related, (im pan, and nonbinary (tho im fine with my given gender for the most part, its just sometimes i dont feel like a dude and that makes me worry about being, ostricized and attacked, and i understand that being open about this basically invites drama/potential "backlash") ) but looking thru the forums yall seem, ok, so im cautiously optimistic about making new friends.
in yalls opinion, how "lgbt friendly/neutral at least" is the community, and outside of that, how friendly is the community in general? how long have yall been a part of these communities, and what friends have yall made? do yall look forward to thief like games like dishonored or gloomwood as well?
what shows do you enjoy watching? my taste is all over the place, i enjoy shows like star trek (tng, voy, ds9 tho i havent seen alot of that one, just one or 2 episodes), the owl house steven universe and infinity train (all cartoons that are "more mature" but still family/kid friendly), columbo, the good place, jojos bizarre adventure, one punch man, mob psycho 100.
if this seems all over the place, i apologize, im new to reaching out like this, but would like to socialize. im also mildly autistic, so i dont know what all to talk about (tho other than thief series, i do have a special interest of transforming toys, i know little about the lore, but alot about different toys and oddities, like rock-lords, marvel shapeshifters, and the likes)
i can also talk mental health if thats interesting, but i dont know when or how its appropriate to bring up things like that. and i dont know if im super comfortable sharing my baggage yet. i hope this wasnt to rambly, and i hope its an appropriate discussion starter! like i said, im new to this lol

As long as you stay away from political threads everyone here is pretty friendly and welcoming. It's also not a huge hub of activity like it once was, so don't expect too much action. Most of us here are pretty long term members.

Having social anxiety can be extremely rough, so I respect your courage to socialize, I know that ain't an easy thing to do. Welcome to the crowd!
The TTLG community can sometimes have serious conversations about a given topic, but there's also a lot of joking around and friendly banter. If someone makes fun of you, don't take it seriously. We make fun of each other all the time. My advice is to try hanging around for a while and see how you like it here. If this place makes your anxiety worse, then we're not the right crowd for you. Or maybe you'll find specific friends here that understand you more than the rest of us. Anyways, I'm glad you're here and I hope you'll find peace from your anxieties.

Welcome. Read a lot and above all COMMENT some. Keep in mind I will consider you a Putin plant or Republican shill going extra liberal to "expose us" until you prove otherwise. You will find we think about things and consider nothing sacred here so grow a thick skin and jump in.
