The thing is, Fonz, is that all people who run marathons (and at least half of all runners) have had either a bad childhood, an unhappy marriage, and/or are deeply closeted homosexuals. By all means do it, but I just thought I'd inform you about the company that you'll be keeping.
Cheerio!
P.S. I so wanted to friend Koki after hearing of his situation, but then I realized that having friends is for cool and popular people, and that's not how I roll.

Koki doesn't have any friends because he eats them.

I recently started training for a half marathon in early october. I started about 2 weeks ago and have since been laid up with very strange knee pain after the first week. :( Which I think is due to shoes not providing support for my over-pronation but in fact exasperating it. And now my leg feels like a cork-screw every time I bend my knee.

What can we do to tip you over the edge? All donations to TTLG? That seems like a slightly indulgent cause and I'd rather do it for some save the cancer children of African slave poverty or something. A beer afterwards? (as if you'd feel like anything but sweet sweet sleep).
Nothing's 'needed' to tip me over the edge, just deciding whether I
really want to put myself through the hell that comes across in the video, and whether I'd be able to complete it or not. I think I would, but I if I do it I'd want to finish it, not collapse in a heap half-way round.
If I do end up doing it, any charity would be an actual charity and not for this place.

Thus; whats the best book/way to train? - has anyone else done this before?
Never ran a marathon, but I've used this guy's programs for training on 5k/8k/10ks.

David, I know what you mean about completing. I'll probably be training
Rocky-style for the rest of the year just to make sure I build up the endurance, that'll be my main concern too.
(That and the jellyfish nets. These fuckers look awful.)
EDIT:
Found a few training tips (

I'll ask my dad to take me to a mountain lake to jump in next christmas. That should give me an idea of what to expect...
