Logging in ...and in....and in..... - by madwolf

I don't wish to complain {honestly} but it seems that every time I go away for a few days the forum seems to forget who I am, so that I have to log in every time I go back on. For example today after several days away from anything remotely technical I've had to log in and give my password about ten times {it's been a busy day!}. Is there something that I can do to get around this or do I just have to just wait until the forum remembers me again?:)

You might have a borked cookie or something. Try the cookie/cache cleaning instructions in this thread: (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68615) and try again.
Also be sure that you don't have your browser/firewall set to time out/expire your cookies or block them entirely from ttlg. :)

Thanks! I'll give that a go.

No change I'm afraid. It doesn't seem to be getting any better. Usually after being away for a while I have to log in a few times but this time I'm having to do it each time I visit the forum. It's never been this bad before:confused:

Hmm, okay. What browser are you using? Are cookies enabled? Are you running a firewall program (Zone Alarm, BlackIce etc...) that is blocking the retention of login cookies/settings?
You may want to specifically set both browser and firewall (if applicable) to always accept and retain cookies from (
www.ttlg.com.) These options will typically be found under "privacy" or "content" (or similar) depending on which program/browser you're using.
Again, there are some general settings instructions in this thread: (

........and then all of a sudden it starts working again. My Internet options were configured correctly so who knows? As I said it happens every time I go away, but this tone lasted longer than usual, Thanks for the help MsLedd:)

This happened to me too. I post primarily in the Thief forums, where people know me as Hammerman. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember my password, and clicked on the option to get it emailed to me. I did that several times with the email I KNOW I use for this forum, but my email inbox was empty every time, as my password didn't get sent. Therefore, I had to create an entirely new account.

It's doing it to me, too... which is starting to get very irksome.

Have you both deleted your cookies? There may be some funky incompatibility between vB2 and vB3. I've deleted mine and it is remembering me, granted deleting them was the first thing I did mind you...
