I wouldn't know where to start with GIMP, but if you know your way around it I can send you the bits... then again, if you do know your way around it you could probably create them yourself in about 5 minutes. It's just a background layer consisting of the Garrett face and loading info, plus a screenshot layer with a mask:

Search for the section [LightGem]
and set
Active=VISIBLE
to
Active=NOT
search for the section [CompassWindow]
and set
Active=VISIBLE
to
Active=NOT
Obviously reverse the changes once you've done (unless you're a masochist/New Horizon).
Edit: oh yeah. IrfanView. Which I also use. (D'oh!)

Sorry to bring this up again, but i'm having problems getting it to work. I've converted my screenshot to dds format, and named it to the map name and packaged it up for garretloader, but for some reason it is not being placed in the corresponding folder of my T3 install when i install the FM using garretloader.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Bho: does it work ok if you just manually copy the file into the appropriate directory? Obviously just about all of the FMs released have a custom loading screen, so I can't see it being a GL problem unless there's something odd about yours - a punctuation mark in the filename perhaps?

Missed this thread. GL won't extract files with square brackets (its a bug in the unzip call to the unzip dll that I have not been able to resolve), other than that it should extract all other files fine (except it won't also extract .exe, .dll and .bat files as they are potentially dangerous).

Well I've tried placing the .dds file directly into the correct folder, and can confirm that there is not a problem with GL - its something on my end.

Have you tried copying one of the existing screens and naming it after your mission? It may be something to do with the dds format you've used.
