I’ve narrowed down the awkward internet meet double take identification process down to a fine art. I’m a veteran of this shit.

Muzman rocked up to the noisy bar where I was holding the fort – the aptly named FLYING SCOTSMAN – and after inquiring if I was a Taffer of Scottish origin, or similar, he made himself known and we got to chatting.

Piglick was on his way but twisty was in doubt (eventually didn't make it), so I was keeping my eyes open for a guy in jeans and a black jacket (not a common look at all, Pig). After a while I started to lose hope but then this dodgy looking bastard with a beard scuttled past and I knew it was THE MAN THE LEGEND. ;)

Rather than make himself known first, like a true Aussie he headed straight for the bar and got a pint in. After realising that indeed internet people are real and we weren't going to harvest his organs, the three of us settled into an easy conversation that lasted the rest of the night. Both were very personable guys and we had a good laugh, I think.

Topics ran the gamut from friendships, online personas vs real life personas, past TTLG meets, kids (lol Kolya you were mentioned as was that thread and yes we are crusty old men), Australia, games (or the lack of them that we play), birthday threads, Christian Scientists Catholicism and Scientology, documentaries, Muzman’s stint as an international man of mystery, racism, dethtoll and CCCToad’s upcoming wedding, UK, TTLG members of years gone past, whether or not I’ve met the most people in TTLG in real life and whether or not that qualifies me as the most prolific stalker or all time.

All in all, a successful meet, and if I’m back in town I think we’ve already arranged to meet up at Piglick’s awesome sounding kitchen followed by a LAN party. :cool:

Photographic evidence follows and I’d like to state for the record that alcohol consumption was not the reason I rolled my ankle, it was due to the bloody curved kerb and my over commitment to telling a story without looking where I was stepping. :(

Maybe it's just me,but if you had handed me those pics and told me it was Muz and Pig, I would totally have assumed each was the other. Not that, you know, Muz doesn't look respectable, but seriously: he looks far more like he's packing a greasy wang.
