Live Earth . . Did anyone see any of it? - by nickie

I marginally watched it. Good intention, but sorts of placebo for the already aware. Besides nobody knows how much CO2 has the concert produced.
More interesting were the ecological comments during breaks. Warming is inevitable even if all mankind would play unplugged right now.
Ask James Lovelock.

Bloody rockstars, all they can think of EVER to solve any kind of problem is to... uh.... throw a real big concert? Because, you know, hearing a fucking madonna song for the billionth time followed by some trite message about not leaving your microwave on while you drive your 40-litre sports assault vehicle round the block is really going to change EVERYTHING. If they really wanted to raise awareness they should give everyone a copy of Oryx and Crake and get some of the most pessimistic climatists available to make a series of short films about how screwed the earth is going to be in 50 years (or whatever) and then show then during breakfast TV. Every day.
sorry, there should probably be more commas involved above.

But nobody says openly we should stop reproduce.

We don't need to stop reproducing. All we need to do is to get population growth to change to population decline at a rate of 3%. In 60 years at that rate, the planet's population will be under a billion.

Now that was a sophisticated way how to say we should stop reproduce.

Can't we just put something in the water to turn everyone gay?
Rogue Keeper on 10/7/2007 at 14:03
Or lesbian.

I thought they already tried that in England
