The game is challenging on the first runthrough, I pretty much gave up on my 1st runthrough when I had wandered around Engineering for a while, but now, 8 or so years later I have went through the game more than dozen times and find it a piece of cake on Impossible. Just hang in there and practice the use of the wrench as well as learning how to best deal with the various enemy encounters (for example you're best off using the wrench on all hybrids to save ammo for more dangerous bad guys).

Thanks for the hint, but what about PSI? I'm now using that and it got a lot easier.

Confused? No need.
Couple years back I remember this place was referred to as "A well to do funeral home" at another game forum just starting up at that time. While it made me laugh, it does make a point.
This place is mostly older, very experienced gamers. Just look at a lot of the join dates. When someone new comes to text town the ttlg style can seem a little bit harsh. You just need to ease into the keyboard landscape here.

I know, but I did that to skip 1 minute of constantly dying. I don't like cheating, but I felt like I had no other choice.
