AF is probably just an out and out bug. Driver AA is pretty much never going to work though, at least not with dynamic lighting - deferred lighting makes the standard technique for antialiasing unusable.

I could swear the AA and AF worked on my computer... Especially Af, I distinctly remember lowering it, and my gun was fuzzy, I increased it and it looked better. It's hard to tell if it was only with static light though because dynamic light adds so much more details. Also, it should work fine with AA, the programmers must be bad though because AA works fine with Doom3 which features Dynamic lighting.

Lightning works on my comp, and doesn't reduce FPS, but I get, in addition to lightening, these weird color flashes that are like a disco or something. Any ideas?

Graphics card overheating?

so....i started a new game and lightening no longer does that. Swear to god it used to though...

Are you sure you weren't just slightly stoned when you saw those colors? ;)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. throws artifacts at you like those 'disco flashes' when you decide to change settings in the middle of a game (like texture detail) and resume playing from there.
If you get that weird, coruscating dance of polygons -- yeah, Bjossi, like a badly rendered acid trip :) -- exit the game and restart it. Chances are it'll be okay then, like you just found out.
