lol, I think your only corse of action is to just release the code or stop talking about it. The more you mention it, the angrier and more skeptical everyone is gonna get. ;)

where do you think 90% of the cracks and hacks come from… insiders!!!!!
Don't they come from hex editing/disassembling?
Anyways...

The subject came up with several venders at the E3 show... when asked about providing level editing tools in comparison to Ion Storm... it was mentioned by several different venders that "the heavily modified UR engine did not belong to Ion storm so with out proper permission, providing level editing tool was out of the question"... also mentioned "that the mods done to the UR engine were done by Epic on request by Ion Storm to provide the proper environment for the thief atmosphere, and several attempts to tweak the engine to make rope arrows functionality STABLE and RELIABLE failed and was abandoned primarily for cost reasons and the climbing gloves were added to solve or simplify the characters ability to climb"

My understanding for no editor is from a few sources in the industry, Ion Storm doesn't have in house programmers capable of the complexes programming required to provide an editing tool.
People do have reason to distrust you.
Anyway. I spent the last couple evenings with T3Ed, and I've gotta say, I'm starting to like it better. Sure it's got some quirks, all editors do, but it's growing on me. And I'm starting to get a hang of the lighting system in T3. I've actually almost got a whole basement done (with servants' quarters, gaurds' quarters, kitchen, servants'/guards' dining room, storage room, etc.) which is further than I ever got with Dromed. Basically, it's not that bad...
And to Vile_T3...sorry if I've been too hard on you, but you are making huge claims with nothing to back it up as of yet. You've gotta expect people to be skeptical...

handed to you by....who? ohnowate revealing your secret sources(c) surely would compromise their personal safety, right?
And I hope you considered contacting Epic games, who aren't going under and whose code forms the backbone of the T3 code, right?
No!!… this is will be considered a third party app… although I’ll be utilizing the code for my base, after I’m finished with it, it will be my work… my code stays with me, since there will be no insider’s to leak anything and I will make every attempt possible to make it as difficult to crack, if not impossible.

mercifully restraining urge to post reply... :laff:

Right then!!!… no skin off my nose… use what you have, I don’t care!!… but I’m not going to offer the DS code in response to your heckling, if that’s what your trying to do… but I will make it available in it’s pristine form when I’m finished with it, at my leisure.

So, yeah - Lighting->ShadowExtrusionDistance is the property you're looking for.

It's this kind of reactionary reply that causes people to question your credibility. If you really were the uber-intelligent application developer you claim to be, you would realize that your claims sound far-fetched and expect skepticism from the Thief community.
Instead you sound suprised and upset by the fact that anyone would question your infinite wisdom. I'm sorry, but your responses to people's lack of gullibility makes you sound like a low self-esteemed teenager looking for attention...

Is this (ShadowExtrusionDistance) in the Wiki yet?
Vile_T3: Extraordinary claims require supporting evidence. People generally won't believe you if you refuse to provide proof of your claims and have a history of presenting misinformation as truth. The attitude that comes through in your posts doesn't help either, you sound like a moody fifteen-year-old looking for attention. If you want to be taken seriously and/or be a credible troll, you'll have to put more work into it.

Lets all take a step back guys. I don't think there's any need for a flame war, it's not making us look any better either. If Vile_T3 says that he'll produce something, then let him go ahead and do so. I don't think our posturing and demands will make a lick of difference. If a year from now there is a rebuilt editor for the community to play with, all the better and if not...no biggie.
My point is, there is nothing to get upset over. It's either true or it isn't. Fanning the flames won't help a bit.
