Dooms Day? I haven't seen you in years man, how's it going?
Yeah good mate. Still doing my System Shock 2 thing. ;)
How about you?
Kolya - Maybe. I can envision something more to capture how the state of Earth is in 100 years time, and maybe some more rich info on whats going on in the plot at the moment. For example, some posters promoting TriOps new not-death-involved endevours, or the relationship between the UNN and TriOp?

It could make a cool intro level for a custom campaign.

A demonstration would be cool. The blocks of people which could stand static, one occasionally throwing a stone or something, arms raised, some transparents, uniforms on the other side waiting for a command. The rest could be done with audio.
Bonus: Two cops mistake you for a demonstrator and chase you until you enter Ramses Center.

That doesn't make sense. It was my assumption that people would praise the UNN for making themselves become part of TriOp's next leap into space.
Ramses Center? Thats the UNN Training Center yes?

It's not the UNN but Trioptimum under Delacroix's technical guidance who develop "Sarah", the FTL drive. And while the general population has high hopes for out-of-system colonization with deteriorating conditions on Earth, most of them won't get on board. And the tensions between the UNN and Triop are high as well. Plus Delacroix herself is very vocal about the fact that the ship isn't ready for it's maiden voyage which could potentially lead to problems, not just for the Von Braun but Earth itself.
It's just an idea, but I think a demonstration is well imaginable in this situation.

Yes

I agree Kolya, but i don't understand why people would demonsrate outside of a UNN building. If there was a TriOp building near-by sure.
It could be just me, but i can't see people demonstrating like you discribe 100 years from now, in a Cyberpunk theme. I can't help but think more along the lines of underground movements. YOu know, like vandalism of corperate ads or buildings.
But i guess that depends on the type of sociaty it is. Is there any info on that?
EDIT
Oh right, they're still recovering from the period where giant corperations were the governments, and now the UNN has taken control aye? So i guess the place would be democratic enough to 'allow' demonstrations.

People demonstrate for (and against) all kinds of things, whether their cause is reasonable or not is usually a question of whose side you are on.
Some could feel that the "hero of the battle of Boston Harbour" shouldn't be allowed on board the ship at all. They might be pro-Trioptimum, if simply for the reason that they are employees.
Others could be environmentalists, who fear that the use of a device that can wrap time and space around a vehicle is enough cause for worry, even if it wasn't controlled by the first sentient AI ever produced after the incidents of Citadel Station. So they might try to pressure the UNN into calling the whole thing off.
As for demonstrations becoming "old fashioned" in the future, take a look at AKIRA for example...
That's all just idle banter though. I'm not gonna make that demonstration and I don't see anyone else doing it. So we might just as well forget about it.

All very true. Especially the last part.
It was fun discussing it though.
