Fucking cool. That's very much how earth should look like. The only thing I felt was missing were people to populate the place. Nevertheless it's got spectacular views and I very much enjoyed running through this. Felt quite strange when I found the Mercury Comics logo I had made for Shevers on some wall.
Anyway, mail to Ionosfear sent. I hope we can archive this. Thanks for linking it TF

Woah. Thats new. Is that his own creation or stuff he has pasted together from this unused part of earth?
Also, is that working correctly for you guys? I'm issing stuff liek the train and some glass and have invisible walls here and there.

We need more cyberpunk games. Like Shadowrun, only not shit.
icemann on 24/3/2008 at 07:37
You mean the FPS game Shadowrun. The console Shadowrun rpg games kicked supreme ass.
The FPS game is a abomination to the series. Barely got anything to do with Shadowrun at all. More a Shadowrun game in name only.

After running through 'Extra-Large' Earth, i think i've decided that it was a good thing Irrational ditched it. Any bigger than it currently is and i think it'd be too big. I mean it really is only an interactive intro. It shouldn't have you getting lost 5 minutes into the game.
I like the current size and general shape of Earth as it is. I'm thinking i'll expland on whats already there. Make it a little less static and a little more engaging.

Yes, of course there were good reasons to keep the earth level small and rather straightforward. Doesn't mean we who've come to know every square inch of it wouldn't enjoy a bigger city. But this was called a testlevel by Ionos, so naturally there are a few things missing, eg a bit of a plot or mission.

Perhaps if it was larger, only with one linear path? Like how you can see the lower level from the bridge. That would add a lot more detail and immersion without confusing those who want to get into the real game asap.

People who want to get into the real game asap should play the real game.
