Thief fans aren't the target audience. The temp-logo they kept for nearly 4 years, and certainly this new one, are anti-Thief.
The greater problem, regardless of the aesthetic opinion of the NuThief logo, is the fact that if NuThief fails as a THIEF game, the logo itself will live in infamy.

As Dia mentioned earlier, its great publicity I guess. :laff:

The old logo worked well with the overall aesthetic of the game, cutscenes and all.
The new game will have a different aesthetic so it's too early to tell. So far, all that can be said about it is that at least it's not spelled Thi4f.

Oh, it already will live in infamy. Without major revision, Thief[4] cannot possibly redeem EM's choices that that logo represents, if EM and their marketing aren't utter bollocks. They keep choosing to show and brag about lame or slightly interesting things, little new in the industry, instead of even hinting and flirting with what they think will impact the industry half as much as TDP did.
It's not too early to tell. They've told us a lot, and keep choosing to hide the things that will convince us otherwise, which won't even be any real secret.

You would at least have to see the rest of the interface and what graphics they'll have for the cutscenes, if there indeed will be any.

Which would just show what they're willing to do for a few more bucks...How very sad for the legacy of THIEF and its great community.

It's as close to haggling with a seller as I can get. They want me to buy without question. Not gonna happen.
The fact that Thief fans are the outcasts of the Thief[4] forums says it all. They are for gamers only, and if they happen to like Thief, fine, as long as they are gaming fanatics above all.

LOL, how despicable! :laff:
Relax you two, we're all one big happy family, right? :cheeky:

Keep in mind, it's not going to be simply an aesthetic matching...it will more importantly be defined and associated with what the NuThief logo represents, as symbolized as a concept.

When asked if they would continue along the lines of the Dan Thron style of custscenes, they used to say maybe and that they liked the original cutscene style, and then Square-Enix bought them up and offered/wanted to help make the cutscenes for DX:HR and T4, and now they are saying, years later, they don't yet know what they want to do with the cutscenes.
We'd finally heard a clip of what Paul Weir was doing for Thief 4's music, and we liked it, and we haven't heard anything in the media releases that doesn't sound like it's borrowed from some other soundtrack entirely. It's all been weird. If we like something, they coincidentally happen to go and kill it.
The description of the light/shadow feedback system is garbage. I haven't heard it described in a way that isn't garbage. And they are telling us again and again that the garbage they are making is natural and well-liked but sounds entirely unnatural and bizarre. The bow isn't more credible in the least, and doesn't even collapse enough to justify having a collapsible design. I don't know what the hell they are doing or why they think it's natural, credible, or better.
