I ended up ranking my favorite currentish tv shows (from the 2010s) today so thought I'd share. By favorite I either like it or, especially the lower ones, I can't help but watch and feel dirty afterwards. It's trying to be in order so first is really first place, etc.
Feel free to put your own list, maybe top 5 or 10 if you're in a rush, and debate it.
This isn't what I think is objectively best, only personal favorite or compulsive. Eg my love for Halt & Catch Fire is higher than it probably is objectively. Also, I take the show on the whole so, eg, The Walking Dead is among the tiptop the first few seasons maybe, lately it's lost some steam, so it ends up still high but not top 5 anymore. That said, I only counted the 1st seasons of True Detective and Fargo because I didn't bother watching S2, so they're still higher than they would be.
We're in a Golden Age of television, and we're already talking about what we watch. I thought we might step back and take a bird's eye view over the wonderful terrain we have lately, whereas the 'what have you watched' thread is the worm's eye view of individual shows

Ok, I guess we're also including shows that started before 2010, but were at least still running in 2010? (like Mad Men)
Comedy:
Community
Louie
Family Guy
Childrens Hospital
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Workaholics
Parks and Recreation
Rick & Morty
(The Office US would rank highly if I included it, but only the last few seasons were after 2010, so let's leave it out)
Drama:
Breaking Bad
Game of Thrones
Sherlock
The Walking Dead
Love (dramedy, but more towards the drama side)
Better Call Saul
Kolya on 31/3/2017 at 16:48
Community (before Troy and Pierce left)
Archer (Vice)
Adventure Time with Finn & Jake (it's amazing how they averted all clichés and routine)
Over the Garden Wall
Rick and Morty (still pretty young and the second season wasn't that great, but still)
Stranger Things (aka the déjà vu effect)
Definitely not Game of Thrones although I watched 3 seasons or so, but it just served to make me sick and depressed.
Similarly Black Mirror is great, but depressing to watch. Unlike GoT I still plan to see it.
I've yet to watch Mr.Robot, The Knick, Girls, True Detective, Breaking Bad, Top of the Lake, Orphan Black and many others. So I'm not much of an expert. But I'm bringing in the comic series, so POW!

I haven't even finished my concert list yet. But I'll give it a go although it'll probably take a while.

Better Call Saul
I've been thinking about having a look at this. Perhaps this weekend as I seem to be spending time looking for things to watch and not really finding anything that holds my attention.
I liked Top of the Lake very much, Kolya. Weird but good.

Are those ordered or just in the category?
If the first, Mr. Robot is a hell of a show for #1 status.
I get turned on & off by it, ultimately it doesn't click, like it's trying to be Fight Club or a Chuck Palahniuk story without the edge (nevermind also without the plot). But I like that it's still trying and I still cheer it on and am a fan. It's an Icarian show, flying close to the sun but always at risk of going down in flames.

Don't forget Twin Peaks which is set for a return shortly.

Mr. Robot Season 1 was genuinely great TV. Season 2 was a self-indulgent mess, and almost as large a step down as True Detective Season 2.
Hannibal is #1 with a bullet for me. Penny Dreadful a pretty close second. They're both as close to perfect as three seasons of TV can be.
From there:
Black Sails (criminally underseen and underappreciated)
The Knick
Fargo
The Americans
Better Call Saul
Daredevil
Halt and Catch Fire
Review with Forrest MacNeil
Game of Thrones
Special Mentions (have only had one season so far, or not yet finished their second):
Legion. It only just finished its first season, but between this and Fargo, it looks like Noah Hawley must have sold his soul to be a god damned TV genius.
Jessica Jones
The Expanse

I watched the first episode of Black Sails and I can't go on. The acting is terrible. It's like Eastenders with more money. And they try to shoehorn as much sex and sex chat into it as possible - this always bodes badly for any series. I know a few people who really like it but it really seems very cheap to me. Does it really get that much better?
I've really liked:
GoT (natch)
Westworld
Better Call Saul
Silicon Valley
Homeland
The Walking Dead
Billions
Mr Robot Series 1 (not seen 2)
I thought these were okay;
Fear The Walking Dead
The Path (only started it)
I got bored of:
Man In The High Castle

Seems as though I just watch crime or similar dramas. I also seem to like series with strong female leads. I think they all fall into the appropriate time range. Although some started well before 2010, final series did just scrape in in a few cases.
All time top:
The Bridge (Scandinavian version)
Spiral (French)
Borgen (Danish)
The Killing (Danish and US versions with equal enjoyment)
I've watched these at least 3 times.
2nd level:
Luther
The Good Wife
The Newsroom
Spooks
Above Suspicion
Endeavour
Foyle's War
Last Tango in Halifax
Silk
Criminal Justice
Doctor Blake Mysteries (Aus)
Mostly British apart from The Good Wife and The Newsroom. I've watched the British ones at least twice.
Edit. Forgot another Matthew Macfayden: Ripper Street
3rd level:
Homeland
Orange is the New Black
The Fall
Broadchurch
The Missing
The Night Manager
Top of the Lake
The Bletchley Circle (mini series)
Line of Duty
Secret State
Torchwood
Unforgotten
Inspector George Gently
Suits
Mostly British. Watched once although a couple I've seen twice. I thought The Fall was gripping but Gillian Anderson's voice was annoying.
I struggled a bit with Game of Thrones - I was endlessly confused about who belonged in which tribe. Some parts I loved and some parts were a bit gross (for my enjoyment) and I haven't watched the last season.
