Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout 2
Fallout 1
Fallout 3
I have played a bit of Fallout 4, but certainly not nearly enough to even consider ranking it, but I guess I'd still place it at the bottom most likely, from what I experienced. Mind you, I still had fun with it at the end of the day.
Toodles.

I'm one of the punks who can only get into the 3 and on games, unfortunately.
1. Fallout New Vegas - One of my favourite games of all time.
2. Fallout 3 - An amazing game
3. Fallout 4 - A terrible RPG, a terrible narrative driven game, a terrible FPS and an atrocious third person shooter. Cannot stand this game, no matter how I try to look at it.

I haven't played New Vegas yet, so clearly I'm missing out.
I've got it. It's been sitting in my Steam list for a long time, and I'll get to it. But it'll be a while before I can.
Anyway, aside from that it's 2, 1, 3, like Duck's.

Oooh a list!
Lets see for me its:
Fallout New Vegas + DLC - I've only played it on 360. I dropped probably close to thousand hours into this game. I rarely took the disc out for a couple years(except for Oblivion and Mass Effect). Edit: Finally picked this up on PC a couple weeks ago. So much better with mods. Haven't had a chance to play it much yet though.
Fallout 3 + DLC + Mods - Ditto the above except I didn't have my own Xbox when I first played it. Later on I did and I pretty much played nothing else until New Vegas came out. I eventually got it on PC some years later so I finally got to play with mods but I just couldn't finish it. Played it too much I guess.
Fallout 4 + Mods (No DLC) - I spent a lot of time with this game, though NOWHERE near as much as 3, let alone New Vegas. It was one of the only Xbox One games I had for a while. I brought my buddies One + three games. Didn't like it much in the end.
I have yet to play Fallout 1 or 2, but I've always heard good things and I really want to. Maybe nows the time?

* Fallout 1
* Fallout Tactics
* Fallout 2
Fallout 1 was a wonderful experience. I loved the atmosphere. The difficulty and length were just right for me. In comparison, Fallout 2 felt overwhelming due to its complexity and length. With civilisation now rebuilding itself after the nuclear apocalypse, the atmosphere was also less gripping.
My playthrough of Fallout 2 lasted from 2012 to 2021. I started on Windows XP, continued on Windows 8.1, and then finally finished the game on Windows 10. At around 20 hours in, I realised I had installed an unpatched original release from disc. Later on in the playthrough, I had issues with crashes at certain locations, items disappearing from the inventory, and even UI elements becoming nonfunctional. Several times I lost an hour of progress or more because I had to go back to an earlier savegame. Some sidequests I could not finish because the game crashed in areas where they take place. I could not patch the game retroactively because savegames from an unpatched game are apparently incompatible with a patched game and I did not want to start from the beginning again. So I soldiered through and avoided the bugs as best I could. It felt like a huge accomplishment when I finally completed Fallout 2 in 2021, despite all the issues with the unpatched game.
Fallout Tactics was alright for what it was. I enjoyed it.

I'm changing my list:
New Vegas
2
1
And I wish someone would make a 4th Fallout game.

I thought they made 76 of them? ...I may be confused about the numbering scheme...

Fallout New Vegas
Fallout 3
Fallout 4
Anyone Playing Tale of Two Wastelands?
Its a merge between Fallout 3 and New Vegas, you get it to play on New Vegas, you can play it from the start with Fallout 3 as a mod (super mod actually since you can start the game with it), the installation is a bit for super computer nerds and is cumbersome to get it right, but once is done is easy to install new mods. (Mod Organizer, Users directory Local, etc)
You can even play some New Vegas mods without being specifically TTW (tale of two wastelands) like the D.E.I.M.O.S. mod, I enjoy it, a little time travel and off you go.

Fallout 2
Fallout 3
Fallout NV
Fallout 4
I like NV because it has some cool factions, in a way it's more detailed than FO3, just not when it comes to the environments, setting is a bit more "meh" too. FO3 is more silly but not in a particularly bad way for the most part. NV is a fucking drag to finish, it's so drawn out, i couldn't wait to be over with it, FO3 i finished 2 times and I finish maybe one game every 5 year or something like that, so yeah, i quite liked it. The many DLC's for these games are fucking bad for the most part. I remember one from FO3 which was decent, very Mad Max-like.
I never get tired of slow-mo shooting off people's head's btw. It's so damn stupid yet i fucking love it: the sounds, the graphics (even if bad).
FO1, i played it of course, but it's been too long. FO2 is still fresh in my memory. It's really great with some modern mods (like zooming in/out if you use very high resolution), it's not THAT much better than the 3D games, but i'd rank it a little higher being the original and being a ""true"" Fallout game (how it was intended yada-yada). I'll still go back to it at some point, FO3/NV, naah, maybe if some great mod comes out.

How about DEIMOS for NV voice acted and with time travel, one word of advice though save a lot! The entrance is hard to locate (you don't receive a notification) but is in the gas station (look for sewer manhole) before the NCR outpost uphill(where is the statue with the ranger/NCR trooper), and after the Nevada police station and in front of Nipton race track. Way after Primm, just keep on the right side as you go.
And Beyond Boulder Dome for NV voice acted (you get a notification in this case unlike DEIMOS) you have to forgive the intro quest about some ghouls but after that its just fine, just make sure you stick with the BoS quest, because there is a bug with the NCR quest, don't worry it won't affect your reputation with neither of them in the main game.
EDITED, AGAIN
There is also *Cabot's Quest for NV, voice acted too (*yeah the Fallout 4 Cabot you know), while at the factory save often and there is a choice to make (possible screw up warning) and a hang up on the factory exit cut scene.
Also you have to save often when inside the mountain complex as there is a small bug with a cut scene that gets stuck, so you will have to reload before entering the area with the scene. After that all fine and dandy.
