We people are horrible. We have this thirsting urge to categorise everything into tidy little genre boxes, and if whatever we're trying to define would fit into several different boxes, we'll just make up a new box and name it progressive metalcore or whatever. I can't say I'm particularly acquainted with the critical differences between UK hard house and Chicago hard house apparently, or what jazz fusion is and what its relation to smooth jazz is. Indietronica? Now you're just making these up. Music is hardly the only field of obtuse genres, cinema has such fan favourites as psycho-biddy and poliziotteschi.
It's time for us to take matters into our hands and chronicle these ever-increasing genres for future generations. Use whatever tool you wish (ms paint is an old trusty option) to illustrate what these genres really are. Draw a diagram if you have to!
