That's what you get for messing with Bobby Kotick.
RIP.

My law school was only a couple of blocks away from Iridium in the late 90's, and he would play every Monday night. One semester I had a class that would get out at 8 or 9 on Monday, and a bunch of us would go over and see him and have a couple of drinks. You really never knew who would show up. Penn Gillette was there once, and evidently I missed Paul McCartney one week that I didn't go.

Holy crap! Famous people always die just after I talk about them.
Though it's INCREDIBLY sad, he done more than just make a certain shape. He was VERY influencial. And I think he also invented multitrack recording.

Wow - I remember when I played drums in high school and my buddy kept going on about how he needed to get a Les Paul. I couldn't figure out what the big deal was until he finally got one and plugged it up to his Marshall stack. WHAT. THE. FUCK. It sounded huge, warm, and angry all at the same time. Great guitar.
Sad to see Les Paul go too - phenomenal guitarist.

Yes he did invent multi-track recording. What a great man. He was still playing in Jazz Clubs in NYC up until a few months ago.
It makes me happy to think that he was / is probably happy still. But I'm still bummed out.

We'll see you in the Void, Les. Rest in peace, brother.
