Nah, I rebought STALKER on sale, I think I'll be busy with it for a while. Gotta start from the beginning since I reformatted for Windows 7.

i can't find anything significantly different in l4d2, it just got more toys. the 2 maps did not manage to excite me for more l4d. can't judge the survivors yet, but I do know that the bots kept too much distance between them and me and sometimes just stood idle without defending themselves. I like l4d, so more of the same is OK, I just don't have the money and will to spend full retail.
I succumbed to the cries of my friends and got me DragonAge so no money left.

Demo is phenomenal, this game is really superb and when I purchase it it's going to be many, many fun times.
I joined a game today where there were eight survivors and we all played as the infected instead, fighting off the bots. The mileage that I'm getting out of the DEMO is absolutely ridiculous, and I'm probably going to be playing it for the next few days as well.

Breaking in my L4D cherry and playing the hell out of the L4D2 demo, fantastic game. Campaign on 'expert' is a challenge even with good players. Definitely on the buy list. :p
Slight problem, I'm having stuttering audio in opening movie and end movie. Perhaps I'm missing a codec, not sure. I just hit 'spacebar' to end the looping. Gameplay audio is fine and video as well. Not a major issue really although annoying and I haven't seen the complete opening movie because of it.
Also, if you shine your light on the witch does it set her off? Defibrillators are a bit confusing, someone explain their use.

The Witch is set off by:
bumping into the Witch, firing a weapon near the Witch, shining your flashlight on the Witch, staring at the Witch too long, being near the Witch too long, setting off an explosion near the Witch (this includes Boomers and bile bombs,) and setting the Witch on fire. Her habit is to kill someone- not just knock them down- and then run away. And if she kills someone and runs away, don't shoot her, or she might come after you. Also, the Witch you found in the Parish was probably walking around, and that's a new variety. Typically, Witches tend to sit in one place and cry, but during daytime (i.e. the Parish) they wander around.
In the original game, getting a teammate back was done by means of "hero closets"- there were several seemingly empty rooms in each map where a survivor would respawn, and you could let them out. The defib pads are a new way of resurrecting killed teammates, in addition to the closets.

you.
I've killed the witch many many times after she has killed a team mate and this has never happened. The only way that she might attack you is if you are blocking her path and she has no where else to go. Also the witch goes to kill whomever disturbed her but if you are blocking her path to the intended victim she will kill you instead and then run away.
Regarding the skipping audio in the intro: I was having issues with that (my in game audio was also skipping) and I found if I disabled multicore rendering it fixed the problem.

I think it's most likely to happen if you Molotov her.

To disable the intro movie, type -novid in properties/general tab/set launch options. Still get the endgame movie and the damn stuttering. Might be able to kill that too, not sure.
Thanks for answers about the witch. Still gettin 'tards who shoot her on purpose, then whole team gets massacred. Absolute hell on expert. ;)
Check this, play as infected. (
