We are looking at getting a small television for the upstairs game room for our young kids (and for us when we are up there with them, etc.). I was thinking about a 32" as the viewing space will be close, probably within 10 feet at the furthest.
I can get a 32" 720p LCD TV for about $300 new. Does that seem worthwhile? 1080p on a 32" seems like a waste, and we did consider a 37" but I think the viewing quality from that distance may not justify the $150+ higher expense.
Any thoughts out there on this?
I bought Sony KDL 32EX402 Full HD set (32") a month ago for about $500 and happy with it. Excellent for console gaming and as analog TV. Viewing distance is about 5 feet or even a bit closer. Initially thought it would be too huge for such distance (especially because I was used to small computer monitors), but appeared it was a perfect size. Also, it has decent blacks and good sound.
And 1080p on 32 definitely isn't a waste, from the distance I perfectly see the difference. BTW, Full HD already costs about the same as HD ready.

Well the PS3 is out of action as the DVD drive is bust.
It's 3 months out of warranty. :(
I called Sony and they said don't worry about it and are send me a new one in 2 days. :thumb:
That, friends, is customer service.
