No, not the well known bugle favourite that livens up any party, but the little column on the forum's front page.
When I click on that link it almost never takes me to the last post anymore (well, assuming it ever did. I think it used to though). I get the first post, the bottom of the first page, somewhere in the middle of the thread if its a big one, pretty much anywhere but the last post. I recall some message somewhere that said 'last unread post' regarding this little function, which might explain it. Still, I mostly use it to go to threads I'm following closely or have written in, and it usually takes me somewhere random in those as well. (which might be explained by neither logging in automatically or keeping cookies or something. I dunno)
It's not important in the least, I'm just curious if its working as intended and I'm confounding it somehow.

At one point, I found it rather confusing that the button took you to the last post in the thread, rather than the last unread one.
I later realised that clicking on the name of the post itself takes you to the last unread post, though.
Was this changed recently? Last unread seems more useful than last post to me, but maybe others have a use for it?

It has always been this way as far as I remember.

Wouldn't cleaning out yer Cookies and Temporary Files folders affect your "first unread post"?

No.
Last read posts are stored server-side, not client-side.
The forum knows it - your computer does not.

Ooooo. Int'resting....

Well it doesn't appear to work at all for me, or very rarely. Even in threads I've viewed already today, right to the end, I get the first post, end of the first page or somewhere in the middle.
As I said, I don't mind, but it used to work ok once. I guess if its just me its not a sign of the apocalypse or anything

The title made think this was one of those "so-long, leaving for good" type threads.

And it seems to do it by ISP address as well as username, 'cause if I read the threads at the library, then look again later on my laptop, and/or vice-a-versa, it will think I hadn't read the same last post, yet.

Me too.
