Undertale is DELIGHTFUL and also I could barely be bothered to drag myself through it. So I don't know man.
The main reason to play pacifist is that it's easily more interesting than combat. Apparently I killed one or two enemies along the way though, so I didn't get the good ending. Didn't realize it was gonna be that strict with killing/not killing. >:|

Heh, that specific combination of feelings is why I've been dragging my feet about getting to it. Thanks, imma give it a whirl eventually!

I feel the same as Henke about Undertale, it is delightful but does bog down at points. My kids played the pacifist run and said it much superior.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall DC
As suspected, I returned to this and couldn't make heads or tails of either the story or the gameplay. Been away from it for too long. The mission I was at I was stealing some kinda mech prototype made out of a troll or something. Anyone know how far into the game I was? Anyway, uninstalling.
Jalopy
Managed to reach the ending. Though the game doesn't end so much as just... stop. At one point you just can't go any further. Ugh... this clunky, frustrating, fucking mess of a game. I kinda liked it, but there's no way I'm recommending it. I don't wanna put anyone else through this.

Hard to say, other than not the beginning nor end; that's one of the several optional side missions in the middle (plot-wise, you're taking jobs to build up some cash). I think that particular one might not unlock until roughly the midpoint, so you're not early in.

Another run at STRAFE, and though I didn't manage to beat it this time either, I think I'm done.

It's been an enjoyable 19 hours with this game, but the thrills are wearing thin, and I don't have the willpower for another run. Uninstalling.

Also played a bit more
Darkwood. Howlongtobeat.com tells me it's (
https://howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=20102) a 20-30 hour game. I'm 12 hours in and honestly I've really been dragging my feet for the last 2 hours of it. Good game, but it would've been better if it had been half as long. Uninstalling.

That's a shame. I wish more games knew when to end; the longer the more I don't have the patience for games that just go on and on, at least not without providing enough substance, and even then I've come to enjoy shorter, more focused experiences much of the time. (Says the guy who's played practically all the Assassin's Creed games and who's just started Fallout: New Vegas, haha...) It's one of the things that's really bothering me about Darksiders 2, though I'm still soldiering on with that one: there's little in there that stands out, the main game's dungeons already feel like they're actually "more of the same"-style DLC.

Don't worry too much about Darksiders 2. I place it squarely in the '45-minute bursts or less' camp, which is games I play as a distraction without any real compulsion to complete - rinse it when you want some decent and undemanding 7/10 fun. Jetting around in Just Cause 3 and exploding things with the Bavarium wingsuit or touring the map in Mad Max fall into the same bracket, useful for when you want something mindless and disposable.

Yeah, that's probably why I haven't yet given up. It's not unenjoyable in shortish bursts, so it's an okay fit when I play a bit in the evening before going to bed. Even like that, though, there's little there that I'd say I really *like*. It's all okay, but it's also samey. There have been a couple of standout moments, in particular one or two of the boss fights, but the dungeons and puzzles are very generic. In general, everything that the game does adequately reminds me of games that do these things better: Zelda's dungeons and puzzles are more focus and they're structured better in terms of ramping up the complexity and difficulty, God of War does *much* better combat and Prince of Persia is much more enjoyable in terms of climbing, jumping and wallrunning.
Also: whoever thought of those nestled "Do X three times > in the course of X1, you'll need to do Y three times" quest lines needs to do something horrible to themselves with a scythe.
Hmm. I don't hate the game when I'm playing it, but when I talk about it I really don't much like it. Is there anything coming up later (I'm currently convening the Dead Court) that stands out as worth playing?
