Ok, I will be installing that then :)

Perhaps stating the obvious but TDM isn't a total conversion of Thief - the missions are different. It's more akin to a platform for playing fan missions / campaigns using a more modern engine.
(i.e. you should play both Thief and TDM missions :))

It began as a Thief 'inspired' Total Conversion of Doom 3, and has since grown into a Thief inspired Stand Alone built on a modified idTech4 code base.

Just to be honest, those pictures are from my (fairly outdated) desktop, not my (even worse) laptop.

faetal was asking if it was a Total Conversion of Thief which it's not (and I had the impression that there was always a reluctance to reproduce the original missions in TDM).

Just means I can play TDM without worrying that I haven't completed Thief :)

You can install Windows on a Mac and dual boot.
I'm not recommending it based on profile or portability. If you had more money I'd suggest a Macbook Pro - the Air suggestion was due to the lower cost only. I wouldn't get a Pro - far too much money for a laptop!
Having bought my first Macbook earlier this year, a 13" Pro, I have to disagree. I absolutely love it, and I'm a guy who shunned Macs for the longest time. Yes, it wasn't cheap (thanks, tax return), but it really is the nicest piece of hardware I own. I've never used a touchpad that works as well as this one, and I've never owned a screen that looks as nice (which is also a plus for photography, which is a hobby of mine). It's not a great gaming computer, but it's screaming fast otherwise. I'm even starting to like OSX; once you get past the learning curve it feels a lot more unified and less unwieldy than Windows.
I'll always have my desktop for gaming, but otherwise I think I'd find it hard to go back.

That's another reason I won't go near Mac. I don't want to catch the bug and be tied into a more expensive computing system for the rest of my days. I don't doubt it is nicer than PC in a lot of ways, but for all of that money I'll be saving for the rest of my life, there are plenty of things to spend it on.

Just out of curiosity, it it FL Studio you're using? It's the only DAW I know of that doesn't work with Macs, although they're saying a native OSX version will be out in the new year, fingers crossed.
