Well the arena does teach you a lot about what counters what. Unfortunately, 3 enemies usually counter you on your lonesome in the arena, especially if they do the thing where they make you fly.... damned argonians.... the only bit in the game where I really couldnt play it at default difficulty. it was something around 38-42 when I finally defeated them.
