Kolya, most of us have been on Facebook for years, and we've already been interacting there, just now on a TTLG nostalgic forum fan page. As for the insidious Zuckerberg machine, we know the dark side, even those who cry "tinfoil hat," who are really people who want to see things go to shit for society, having fun with their toys as it all goes to hell.

plus many of us are over 35 and sick and fuckin tired of having nicknames and personas and no reality to our online lives.
I didn't instigate shit, but we now have at least 80 old heads connecting on the FB page.
Easier than making a CommChat subforum called "GROWN UP DISCUSSION: n00bs stay out!"

"Facebook page? Naw, don't need one. I got TTLG circa 2006. "
Are you for real? Seriously, do you hear the words coming out of your ... see the words coming out of your ... uh ... well through your fingers through the keys onto the monitor??! Huh, huh, do you see them?!

Do I think the Facebook group will accelerate the emigration from CommChat? Yeah, I do, and I feel a little bad about it. But it's also beside the point. It's like saying that shooting a horse in the head will kill it faster than poisoning it's food; you're soon going to have a dead horse either way.
Given the choice, I'd talk TTLG 2006 over Facebook. But the choice does not exist; it's gone, and it's never coming back. Generalist forums are dead, and we've all discussed our specialist subject as much as we're able. I think Gen Gaming will be around for a while because it offers a certain viewpoint on gaming that is hard to find elsewhere; but Commchat is full of tumbleweeds. Not even that. Tumbleweed left.

Koyla, fwiw there's also a plot to pick you last in kickball. Have you still not figured out that the reason you're not in the imaginary "inner circle" is because nobody wants to listen to you whine like a little girl about everything? Jesus, man. A little objectivity, please. I'm perpetually embarrased for you.

this mostly, although Kolya has some pertinant points regarding fb vs comm chat, but worded in a way that isnt the most tactful.

I'm kind of distracted from the conversation now since this sentnce has tied my mind in knots. I think like the Voynich manuscript or something it quietly holds the secrets of the universe, if only someone can decypher it.

Kolya, were you always this much of a wanker or did you start chugging dick pills sometime after late '07. Seriously, you used to be cool, man.
Thirith on 9/5/2012 at 05:45
Seriously, kolya, did lost_soul hack into your account? Being critical is one thing, but going off into a frothing-at-the-mouth rant is more than just a tad embarrassing and makes you look like a little kid having a temper tantrum. I like you and appreciate the majority of your posts, but every now and then you do behave like a real dick.

Kolya, please rest assured that (if only for a fleeting moment in time, which - let's face it - is all we ever have) we're having more fun than you could cope with having.
kthxbye
