So it's 5:40am. I just got back from Steak and Shake, having grown hungry from watching too much Cowboy Bebop (just purchased the entire season on DVD, I recommend it). I ordered cheese fries and they didn't give me enough cheese...
Well, I took out some Kraft Singles out of the fridge, slapped them on top of my fries, microwaved 'em, and ate up.
But... the last time I remember buying kraft singles was more than two years ago.
I mean, it had no mold and it didn't smell or taste bad, but I can't help but think maybe I devoured an evolving micro-civilization in my cheese slices. I'd frankly be amazed if I don't get sick in the next 24 hours. Even if it barely qualifies, this is still cheese we're talking about. A lot of things less prone to mold than cheese can go bad in much shorter time.
How long does this stuff stay good for? Anyone eaten a slice older than mine? (Yes, I suppose this thread is pointless and I don't expect to die or anything. Just thought I'd share, really).

Don't know about "Kraft imitation cheeses", but some cheese is aged for years before it it considered "ripe". Others process in a day and some will stay viable for more than a year.
Mold on cheese is not necessarily "bad". Bleu Cheese IS MOLD. :ebil:

why didn't you just put your chips in a plastic bag, nuke them then eat that
jesus you people disgust me

nah seriously dude try nuking an empty dorito bag, it's safe and puts on a cool show, plus leaves you with an exact replica about 1/10 of the size, althought doing this multiple times might piss your magnetron off

Real food rots. I'm thinking the most your body will do is what it regularly does with Kraft Singles, pokes it around, makes a few faces, then just turns it into fat because it can't figure out what else to do with it.

Since Kraft singles aren't technically food, you should be alright. They're like McDonald's cheeseburgers - made for the nuclear holocaust.
