Hello again,
I finished UU2 some days ago (really a great game; things I liked particularly were the funnier characters like Blog ("let´s play white-rock-black-rock, spi-ders too dumb for it ..."), fooling everyone in the Prison Tower, and crashing Killorn Keep).
Now I'm getting into KQ8, which reminds me a bit of the Underworlds. I found some reviews on the internet, which range from enthusiastic to very disappointed (which is no surprise, given the change from KQ7). I personally like it so far, I set combat moder to easy and concentrate on the exploring and puzzle-solving parts of the game. The graphics are great, and even on my P 300 MHz without 3d support the game runs quite smoothly.
Anyone knows the game, and how do you like it?

One thing made me look away from any new King's Quest...
I read that you have to kill things.
(which totally defies the whole concept of any King's quest)
Some parts are even Diablo-esque, according to some.

Hmm.. I played and enjoyed it; it is somewhat combat-oriented, but as long as you're attentive to detail you can always buy/find weapons that toast your enemies so rapidly that it's almost not combat.
Other than that, it does live up to the KQ legacy IMHO with lots of interesting puzzles that, again, require an attention to detail and a good bit of curiosity.
