My teacher training just started :erg:.
Maybe I'll manage to make a mission, maybe not.

Sounds fun, but will I complete one if I try?

Yes, easily!
To make a basic mission filling the space would take a few weeks probably. The rest of the time would be for improving the mission, working on complex details or systems, etc.
Plus, there is extra time for people who can't get started yet, so people who start in January and even early February could still finish!
Use my tutorial to learn the ropes and you'll be making missions in no time!

I'll see what I can come up with. Even though my previous attempt was rather substandard... I'm currently blaming that on it being way too rushed. If I take my time over a mission and it STILL sucks, then I'll definitely know to stick to writing editor tools. :p

Count me in too; I'm another newbie to Thief editing in general (I've never even seen T1 or T2) but I'm increasingly impressed with the capabilities of the editor as I'm working though your tutorial and playing with scripts and I'll give it a go!

Yay!! Got the clouds drifting in my skybox ))

veledan, glad to hear it! Keep up the good work and soon you'll have a contender of a mission for the contest! A bit of history - the winner of Contest 1 back in the fall of 2001 was Hit Deity, and he was a newbie at Thief editing, entering his first mission ever. Anyone can do it, you don't to be an expert, just a bit creative.
Crispy - I've read some positive comments regarding your entry (not to mention any details to give anything away), and I liked it too. Despite the possibly "substandard" rushed elements, it's really a good fun mission that has been received well I think.

A new site... That's cool! :thumb:
I dig the new-generation thing you've got going ... seems right for T3 stuff to get a place of its own. I found my way to the world of Thief FMs and TTLG originally through the komag site ... so I hope this new site can do the same thing for a new generation of taffers.
It makes me wonder, though, if you'll ever change your name to Kosad ... except that it sounds just so ... well, sad, whereas Komag has always sounded cool. (although on that note, I also wonder what happens when Komag overtakes the Keeper of Metal and Gold in posts??? It's coming...)

Komag, thank you so much for including Dark Mod in your new site. We truly appreciate this. It makes us feel welcome in the community. :)

I can't wait until the Dark Mod is done and we can have a Dark Mod contest. I don't know if DM and T3ed missions could be in the same contest though. Too many people that only have one or the other. Komag has probably already decided how he will do it.
Besides, we like the Dark Mod project (at least I do), both have their own strong points.
