I completely agree with a new FM contest right after the last one. Its what T3Ed needs to gain more intrest. The more missions we have the more people might want to build one themselves.
Had me worried that the Thief 1/2 editors guild is still outposting this one. (but im guilty of that myself, since I hang out there more than here:eww: )

Goodbye, free time.
First I have to concentrate on finishing up my current project, though. So much to do, so little time...

T1/T2 has ALOT of momentum still. Will take quite a while, I think, for T3ed to match that level of interest (if it ever does). A big mission with custom content in T3ed takes a ton of work too (as I have found over the last 6-7 months), although I think the potential for some amazing stuff is there.

Hurray for blue rooms.
Lets see stats for "C5: A Guard Called Benny":
First Dark.gam stats: 646 links
Gamblefinal.mis (test mision supposedly after the poker game was finished:
274 objects (120 in blue room)
1816 links (1170 links added to level and to the custom gamesys)
ThiefPoker had 65 cards added to the gamesys (each with a special stim hitting a certain button when triggered)
Final.mis (completed mission):
1268 objects
3514 links (2868 links added in the mission and gamesys)
About a third of the links were in the ThiefPoker game.
(The ghost house had 4466 links. Nearly every object had on or two links from destroy traps added to them)
Other things I have done in a blue room: Dynamic weather, game randomization including weather effects, game/plot customization, score customization for "multiplayer", name input using buttons placed in the world.

I like this side discussion on bluerooms, but it really should have its own thread. So I made (

Long live Komag's contests! :thumb:

This makes me feel doubly guilty as I'm luring people away straight to it. :joke:

That is a nice thread, a lot of interesting things people have done.
Back to C7, How many peope are thinking of making missions? I think I may manage another one, or maybe I'll take a break, I suppose it depends how brutal the comments are from C6. Even that I think I can take in stride. 2 months on a new editor, and we didn't have a single mission released when we started, so no reference to compare to... (well, except for the OMs and all the Thief 1 and 2 FMs :cheeky: )
If anyone isn't sure what they want to make, some nice rooftop missions are always good, or a good clocktower/scaling the side of the building type mission. I'm not sure I can visualize the brushwork just yet for a rooftop mission otherwise I would keep quiet and do it myself.

Everyone better hurry, there's only 3 1/2 months left! ;) Seriously though, getting started even with just a few subtractions for ideas of layout will help get you inspired and making something cool!

I am! The BSP is already about 40% done :D I've never been so productive in T3Ed before.

Me too! I'm in BSP hell so I had to play around with my build settings.

I'm going to try to make another one too, but I've been working on the tutorial (and some other stuff) these past weeks
