Have you ever thought of giving like a small cash prize for the winner and maybe second and third place also? It could help provide a little incentive and maybe we'd get more participants.

:laff: Incentive!!!! Man, if having your mission chosen as best of the best isn't incentive enough, then nothing is. I'll be happy just to know that someone might enjoy my mission.

If Komag offered $50,000 for the winner I'd enter at least 3 maps in the contest.
But unfortunately for us all, he's just too damn cheap.

:laff: 50k. nonTaffers would even be in here trying to win :laff:
Anyway, I would be willing to give $100 to be used for prize money if Komag and the community is interested. It could all be given to first place, or maybe broken up like $50/$30/$20.

But he is the one that brings us the contests, tutorials and his webpage. And for that, I thank him. :thumb:

If it takes money to entice people to make T3 fan missions, we are in sad shape indeed. :)

Yeah, way to make me feel guilty.
Really, truthfully, honestly...I think the only thing you should get for winning one of Komag's contests is the prestige. He holds them because he enjoys it, and that should be the main reason why people join.

I am not saying that this community wont support. It's not a lot of money, especially when you look at how many hours spent building for the money. It's probably less than min wage :) I know we will have some designers that we can always count on, but maybe there are a few people out there that are considering entering(so called sitting on the fence) maybe this might nudge them a little. This editor is still relatively new and I would like to see it take off. Then we would have missions coming from all 3 games :cheeky:

I respect that feeling. I was just trying to sweeten the pot a little. No harm intended. Like I said, I want this to take off so that all Thief games are supplying us a steady amount of FMs.

Time, takes time. I don't think money would be a wise thing to introduce, regardless of the other implications. It could be viewed as selling your mission for profit and as we all know, money can not change hands for FM's. A bit of a gray area..but...you know.
As far as that goes, I'll be working on a small mission for the contest.
