Start a fire close to B, wait for it to end at B, then stand on the ashes.

Yeah that would be my guess too.

Right. That's exactly what I came up with, that they are both knaves...
You're wrong, and you're gonna love my explanation:p
The head of the Computer Science department asked us this in a class he taught and one was a knight and one was a knave. Unfortunately I cannot remember which!:eww: :o

you don't even have to wait for it to end. The wind is blowing south, so the 2nd fire will travel south too. All you have to do is wait for it to travel far enough to safely stand on burnt land. It's also worth saying
you can start the 2nd fire by just carrying a burning branch from the 1st fire.

And then you're on a burned down island in the middle of the ocean with nothing to eat...yay.

Here´s the classic puzzle from "Labyrinth". You know, the one with David Bowie jumping around with weird hair and singing "Dance magic". Don´t deny that you watched it.
There are two doors. One leads to certain death (Ooooohhhh !) and the other to a safe place.
You don´t know witch door is the death door, is it DOOR A or DOOR B ?
There are two guards near the doors. Let´s call one JIM and the other MAX.
Apparently they are from the same special island from the OP´s puzzle because ONE ALWAYS LIE (KNAVE) and ONE ALWAYS TELL THE TRUTH (KNIGHT).
You don´t know if JIM is a KNIGHT and MAX is a KNAVE or if JIM is a KNAVE and MAX is a KNIGHT.
Before choosing one of the gates (risking death or salvation) you can make ONE question to ONE guard, JIM or MAX.
What is your question ?

"Which door would the other guy say is the safe door?" They'll both point to the one leading to certain death.

"You remind me of the baby!"
"Which baby ?"
"The baby of voodoo!"
"Voodoo ?"
"You do!"
"Do what ?"
"Remind me of the baby!" - Kicks goblin violently and starts singing...

I think people here either have seen it or will at least pretend they did.
Another great movie of the same era and charme, complete with scary Henson puppets and Ian 'Bilbo' Holm: (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089052/) Dreamchild. Very much recommended.
