Okay, I'm in the fighters guild and Percius Mercius wants me to kill Eydis Fire-Eye and some orc guy. I know that they are part of a later thieves guild quest to have them join the theives guild or something. Well, I'm planning on joining the theives guild later and I just want to know if I kill this woman is it going to screw my chances of becoming Master Theif?

I do believe joining both the thieves guild and the fighters guild will keep you from rising to the top in both.
What's really going to screw your chances of becoming master thief is
[SPOILER]you're going to be asked to kill Gentleman Jim Stacey before you're done with the fighters guild. Conversely, in the thieves guild, you'll end up killing the head of the fighters guild. [/SPOILER]
I'm not yet this far along in the thieves guild though. Can anyone confirm?

you only have to kill Mr. Stacey if you finish the fighters guild the *evil* way.

Yep.. i have risen to the top of the fighters guild..and didnt have to kill him :D

may i ask how else u rise to the top of the fighter's guild w/o killing thieves? cause i had to... followed by killing hard heart

Here's what you do. Join the Thieves Guild first. If you do the last Thieves' Guild quests, you can then do the last Fighters' Guild quests.
[spoiler]In the final Thieves quest, you have to convince 2 people to side with the Thieves, against the Camonna Tong. This is easily done, and you don't have to kill anyone. Then, you have to kill the head of the Fighters Guild, Whatshisname Hard-Heart. No problem there. When you join the Fighters' Guild, the 2 fighters (Percius and ElinaWhatever in Balmora) will already be on your side, and the Orc in Vivcc will have already taken over as Guildmaster for Hard-Heart. Also, DON'T do the final Fighters quest for Hard-Heart (killing all the Thieves' masters). [/spoiler] However, if you've already joined the Fighter's Guild, you can still do it by simply Taunting the ones you need to kill so you won't get ejected from the Fighters' Guild. And, even if you do, you can still get back in.
