There's also another one of those meaty beasts in the stadium in pripyat so that makes 3.

That big monster that creates a shockwave (I think it was in X18) is one of the creatures I'm happy that I have only dealt with once so far. :eww:
Hmm, I think it's possible to avoid the shockwave by jumping; on my second run when I encountered it in X18, I was anticipating the shockwave so I watched it raise a foot, then jumped off the ground right before the slam ...
The Yantar one is found in a tunnel where space is limited so jumping the shockwave might be difficult if you don't have headroom.

I figured out the jumping strategy after a few failed attempts at killing the bastard in a hurry. In Yantar it is possible, if I remember correctly you meet him in the tunnel where there is plenty of jumping space.

I think that that one is always torn to pieces by the anomalies in my games.

Well, since I haven't reached Prypiat yet, I'll know about this guy beforehand. ;)

Rats?Stadium?I missed a lot on my "blunder misson"
All cause I was too lazy to meet the guide:erm:
There's no way you could have missed the stadium since you have to go through it to get to chernobyl NPP.
I know on my last run I fought one the big meatys in the stadium but that might have been because I somehow missed the 'cut-scene' where it gets whirligigged.
Bjossi on 4/5/2007 at 11:17
Well, missing a cutscene or a scripted event in Stalker is often possible...

It all depends on where you're coming from. If you're coming from that building where the Monoliths have their base, you can miss the inside of the stadium if you go straight to the transition point.
