It's been more than 15 years since I've played the Underworld games, but I still remember loving the first one and how exciting it was to explore the dungeon. My English wasn't that great back then so I must have missed a lot of the story, but I still managed to get through the game in the end! :D For some reason I never got very far in UU2 though, I guess that's something I should (re)play before the new game comes out.
I did actually buy both Underworld games on GOG not too long ago, and I just thought that I would give UU1 a try. The game itself seems to run quite fine, but the music sounds quite terrible. I suppose that's the case with most old games with midi music, but is there a patch or something to "fix" it? Or are the any other patches/mods/fixes/DOSBox tweaks/whatever else that I should be aware of?

I've been replaying UUW as well :) I started playing with the first character I rolled, paying no attention to stats, and I'd been thinking that I must have done poorly on strength given how much difficulty I was having with inventory. I just rolled a few characters for comparison, though, and have realised I actually have an entirely reasonable strength, and I'd just forgotten how impossible it was to lug around all the stuff I want to carry :)

Good to see that they have rejigged the tiers now to some extent but is there really that much demand out there for a Tracy Hickman novel? Nothing against her or anything (never even heard of her before tbh) but I can't see the logic of spending $50k on a novel above adding in an additional race which doesn't feature until another $50k later.

But yeah, that's kinda low priority for me, I'd much rather have more content than a tie-in novel.

He and his partner wrote the classic book Dragons Of Autumn Twilight (1984), my favorite book! That is the book that introduced the character Goldmoon. Imagine my joy, when he wrote the story for Shroud Of The Avatar and now Underworld. Crpg lives on ! ! ! !
