Which sadly didn't reach the final stretch goal of 4.5 mil. Would have been nice to have got the player stronghold in. But 4.25 mil is still pretty damn good.

$4.25 million is more than any game has raised on Kickstarter, so yeah, that's pretty good.

Bars been raised. Wonder how long it will be till a game gets above it. Have to be something monumental (ala System Shock 3, Syndicate 3 etc).

A lot of people gripe about established devs using KS, but I for one am happy that there is a way to bypass publishers and go direct to audience.

Second that. And that way, we the fans/audience decide what games get done (that get pitched on KS) and not the publishers.
So no more of the "well the study group results say that you should be making game type x" crap.

Eh, Double Fine/inXile/Obsidian are as indie as any other studios.

Honestly, my inner skeptic is kind of anticipating the rage that will ensue when these games do come out and have been streamlined to all hell. Bioshock was supposed to be going back to the roots too...

Bioshock wasn't personally funded by fans of SS2. If it had been, we would have gotten a much different game. Everything about Bioshock's design was geared toward appealing to couch gamers.

When I'm asked about how to make our games more accessible, I always give the same answer, which is: I don't care.

What ZB said, and if you were to look at the screenshots and early game footage pre-2K purchase, the game actually did look like it was going to be more of a continuation of the system shock style and approach. It wasn't until after the 2K purchase that suddenly a console version was needed (i.e. was going to become the main focus of development), and many different design changes implemented (most of which could be seen as the game being "dumbed down").
