If it were an option, I'd vote for "No Combat". I mean, if it's supposed to be a Torment successor why not just have combat be resolved through dialog or something. Since it apparently has to be there, I voted for RTWP because fuck spending an hour on every encounter in a game that's not supposed to be about combat resolution.

Wait, what's wrong with RTwP? That's what the original used. Might have been a bit clunky in Torment, but it worked just fine in BG. And it's way better for tiny casual fights like when you run into a rat or something, and don't want to have to spend ages dicking about issuing orders when you could resolve it with a single click and a few swipes.

And therein lies the problem. It's also a big reason why I stopped playing Dragon Age.

The new Torment is supposed to do away with trash mobs.

Eh fair enough then, probably doesn't make much difference either way.

As a backer I voted for turn based. Best combat style for rpgs generally.
Fuck. That. Replaying the original Fallouts, I came to
dread any combat encounter with more than five or six participants. Click, wait... wait... wait... wait... wait... wait...

What are you babbling about, PS:T had piles of combat.

And that was half the problem.

The best news is that both Torment: Tides of Numenera and Wasteland 2 are being made specifically for the games' crowdfunding backers. Fargo and his teams at inXile don't give two shits about the opinions of the wider public.

And that was half the problem.
And let me guess, the other half of the problem was all the dialog.
So for you, the ideal Planescape game would apparently be a blank screen.

I'd settle for good dialog.
