Fair enough, but the point of my post regarding the BS example was that it genuinely seemed to be following through on its "spiritual successor" promise, until a party with absolutely no interest in said spirit became the majority backers of the project. Healthy skepticism ...
SNIP Fair enough, and BS isn't exactly 100% accurate example here, I was just using it liberally as an extra throw away...
Honest question: I've been feeling TTLG has been extra anal lately about being literal and accurate; if at least a tiny bit of a claim is off, the whole thing gets torn to shreds (though, that is also most of internet). Maybe it's just me who's been getting flak for that though. Either way, it almost makes me feel like I need to "choose my words carefully;" granted text is hard to interpret sometimes (without the body language) but it has been feeling a bit more anal, cumbersome and hostile lately than normal.

Your opinions are usually terrible.
This is TTLG, where Everyone's opinions are terrible™

Not to be confused with Theif
Renzatic on 10/4/2013 at 06:08
Did I come into this thread confusing anything with Theif? Did I say Theif at any single point during this conversation? I just went a couple posts up, and well hell, what do you know? I didn't confuse jack with SHIT!
SO YOU SHUT THE HELL UP!

If everyone in here was 100% literal and correct all of the time, someone would start taking issue with the kerning.

RTwP is a pain in the ass. I hope turn based, and sanity, wins out.

Goddamnit, Dethtoll! Why is it that every time PS:T comes up you gotta come in and...
...well shit...
...you're right. Real time with pause isn't nearly as fun as turn based, yet achieves about the same thing in the end.
The way I'd play Planescape, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and the rest was to set it to pause at the end of every round. The only real difference between that and turn based would be that instead of watching everyone move and attack one at a time, you'd see everyone move about and smack at each other all at once. But no matter how it went down, you were always issuing orders at the end of a round.

As a backer I voted for turn based. Best combat style for rpgs generally.
