I put the key to the crypt on my ring and now it doesnt work.
Did I do something wrong?

It should work, hopefully it isn't a glitch. Two things I can think of that could be wrong:
1) Are you sure you received the correct key for the crypt, who gave it to you?
2) Silly question I know, but are you trying to use the key on the actual gate? There's a keyhole that can be difficult to see on the wall near the crypt entrance.
