Keeping character generation fun... - by Sorskogen

I know there's a mod that allows you to just make a character without going through all the faff at the start but i have found a really great (and not at all sad in the slightest, nope.) way to add a bit of excitement to the character generation! You know that guard "This is where you get off..."? Well, for quite a while now i've found it fun to RACE HIM UP THE STAIRS!! Oh yes, excitement from the start. And i don't always win. Sometimes he beats me up the stairs, the bugger. So, i was wondering.. Is it just me? Surely there must be others who try to beat the guard up the stairs? No?

Of course we do. ;)
(the second guard who asks for your race is a wimp, you can win every race against him)

I did that the second time I played MW.
The first time I was all role playing about it, afraid that the AI might detect my foolishness and kill me for it.

I can win all my races as long as I get infront of him on the lower deck. Gets a bit tricky if you don't. I find it disconcerting that once you finish character generation and you run in third person, you seem to be defying gravity in your steps. They look big, but you're not actually going anywhere.
Personally, I think there should only be small increases in your running speed and athletics just determines how far or long you can run. By decreasing the amount of fatigue consumption used during running, you could probably do this quite well. It makes a lot more sense.

I find it easier to win in the xbox version for some reason. Once you get a certain distance away he stops moving, I like leaving him at the checkpoint below deck so he never goes upstairs...

How can you resist racing him?
He's just too slow to wait for!

I remember before the first patch being able to activate your fists and beat Juib up. For some reason, the guard came and decided that Juib should stop hitting me, and killed him with his sword.
Then I tried to kill the guard. Didn't turn out so good.

I think they should of made diagonal running/walking motions, it just doesn't look right!

Eh? How did you do that? I created a few characters from the offset without any of the patches intalled...
Funny

Press 0 which is the default Hand-to-Hand key. :D
