Hello,
first of all, my thanks to all taffers who supported this release and accept my apologise for disappearing so many times without keeping the promise.
so, after 2 years, here's the thing:
FEATURES:
- Enforcers ignore the citizens.
- The citizens ignore the Enforcers, although very rarely they seem to feel their presence. They do not raise alarm, simply get scared and run away. (Frankly I didn't intend it, and I don't know why it happens.... but it is a pleasant surprise nonetheless.)
- Enforcers have been made stronger, about Gamall's level.
- They are invisible. Predator-like in the light. Completely invisible in the dark.
- They cast shadows. (Initially I thought it would have been cool, but then I changed my mind and wanted to get rid of those but I lost interest in the game so I've never got back to fix it. I'll leave you to be the judge about this one. Cool, but not realistic and makes easier to locate them.)
- They flicker every 20 seconds, appearing for a 0.5 secs and vanishing again. Again, it was a personal choice, it could be changed easily if you have T3Ed installed.
I created the Asssassins on a modified gamesys; I was running Thief 3 with Minimalist mod 1.4 so the gamesys file was NOT vanilla. It should be quite easy to reproduce the changes I made on an unmodified gamesys file though, BUT if you don't want to mess with the editor, then in your case
Minimalist mod 1.4 is a requirement to use the Assassins.
I created them over 2 years ago. It was the only reason I installed T3Ed and the only time I've ever used it. Please, do not ask me about scripts, modding etc, I will be unable to give you technical support. A readme with some notes is included so if you have at least a basic T3Ed knowledge, you'll be able to change whatever you want.
The file is quite big: 261Megs since it includes all the ibt level files where the Enforcers appear (practically all city levels). Unfortunately this is due to the way the game was designed. So there....239kb to change the Enforcers...and 260 MB to put them in place. :erg:
If you want to work on it, change it, improve it and then redistribute it, you may do so WITHOUT giving me credit. It was a
community work. I was guided by a bunch of Good Taffers who helped me and who were always there, providing support, even after 2 years, even if sometimes it seemed impossibile to finish. My only input was my stubbornness :)
So thanks to nomad of the pacific, Bumbleson, New Horizon, Crispy and all those who contributed with their own tests, suggestions and expertise.
Now, download. Enjoy. Or dissect.

And they do work in the whole game? I mean, you have to play TDS from the start to get them working, that's why I was never really eager to try it for every little change we made.

Thank you, F+K! And absolutely, thanks to all who contributed work to this major attempt to amp up the Enforcers. Now the work is available to be carried on, and I couldn't ask for a more decent conclusion to this chapter. :thumb:

Just delete the script HideKepperAssassinAtGameDay6Start and then launch the game.
Then let us know!

I cannot delete the script from the game. So have you tested it or not? :weird:

When I can update the sites again, I'll do a news story on this. :)

Sorry, I thought you wanted to test it with T3ed.
As far as the game is concerned, it has been tested.

Just wanted to say my quinquennial "Hello" to the community. I at least am still alive, but not really into Thief anymore (well, my contributions were rather small anyway, I guess). Glad to see you were able to make it, Fallen+Keeper! :thumb:
I had to dig deep in the archives of my brain backups to find out what "Enforcers" were, but now I dimly remember that project ;)
I'm amazed how much I seem to have known about T3Ed once. Nowadays I would have a hard time even finding it on my drive...:p
Anyway, good to see this community is still that active. :D
