If the greasels have become the equivalent of giant predatory sewer rats, I wonder what became of the karkians. I know there are karkians in the game (screenshots), but what are they?
Are they domesticated (ie. guard alligator/pit bulls?) If so, by whom? Corporations? Home owners?
Are they wild (ie. sewer creatures like the greasels - unlikely, though)?
Have they become urban alligators?

A bunch of descriptions I read pit the Karkians in an odd symbiosis with the greasels. Since the greasel spit illuminates prey, it makes them easier targets for the karkians, who apparently have poor eyesight (or so I've read). I'd assume that a more expansive veiw of the game would show the karkians to be sewer dwellers as well.
What I want to know is where the greys got to. In the emails from DX1 there are refences to them being used as guards an whatnot by versalife and A51 (as in apparent when you make it into the final area), but since versalife kicked the bucket, where did these guys go?

I have to say that this was an aspecct of the demo that struck me the wrong way - the treatment of the Greasels. In DX1, I was genuinely afraid of them - they killed me many times. I bought into the idea of them being created in the lab and that a few escaped (shades of Jurassic Park) and could be found roaming in the ventilation system, and somehow a few got loose in Paris.
But somehow it just didn't fit my vision that 20 years in the future, people would be calling them "gobs", keeping them in open-barred cages in rooms - what, somehow you train them not to attack you? - and having them fight for sport (which by the way, makes for a rather boring fight, from what I've seen). You'd think mankind would have gone out of it's way to exterminate them, being so dangerous.

well, dogs were wolves in the past (I mean long long past), and we trained them to be docile, despite a normal dog can still kill a normal human within seconds. The strength itself is not a problem (give a kitch knife to a 10 year old and he can wreak some havoc too), the education is the important part. And after all, Greasels and Karkians are artificially created to serve humans, so I guess it's easier to make them docile than some other wild animals like wolves.
However I also wonder about the Greys. I mean, how intelligent they are? equal or maybe even above normal human intelligence? that would be a real problem.

Well, the karkians have replaced the greasels in the sewer in the full game.
The greys are in the game too - ie. a mission for the Omar has you looking for one on ice.
