So, I have a few questions...
So far I should be at level 4 but I haven't slept at all so those level ups are just racking up. Here's my question. When improving my skills and the time comes to level up, I've noticed that the highest bonus I can apply towards a governing attribute (IE Strength, intellect, etc..) has been a big smackin 5. Can it be any larger then 5? Or am I just wasting my time trying?
I am an imperial with custom stats, strength and intelligence being my two main governing attributes.
This time around, I am trying to explore areas of the game I've never even touched! For one, I am picking most plants I can find, making really good potions, and selling them for HUGE profits. AWSOME way for a low-leveler to make a decent wage! Also, i think I'll join house Redoran. I've only ever joined Hlaalu or whatever it's called. I've joined the Imperial Legion, and I'm actually going to complete ALL of the quests within the legion, then it'll be off to the fighters guild!
I've never actually completed all of the quests within a guild so hopefully I can this time around. I want to finish as much as I can before I go around exploring and picking up items that will affect future quests.
After that, I'll move on to the mages guild and improve my magical skills from the floor up. all of my magic skills are below 10 atm so it'll be stressfull at first, but I've NEVER been a mage before so, it'll be a new, refreashing experience!
Then it's off to the thieves guild! I've never been a thief before but I think that once the other guilds are finished and my skills are high, i'll be in a good position to take on going against the law!
I might also join a few temples along the way!
anyone have suggestion for me? or comments? or am I forgeting anything?
The main quest will come later :p

There are several other guilds to consider, including the Imperial legion, temple guilds and the assassins' guild.
As for stats, 5 is the highest you can improve by.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the assins one, Commona Tong? something like that... I believe I did mention the imperial legion and temples as well though...
Thanks for the info on leveling up. So is there ANY benefit to not leveling up right away? or am I just screwing myself out of bonus points?

Leveling up is best done asap, unlike Oblivion the loot you find/monsters you fight aren't tied to your current level.
:edit:
Missed the part where you mentioned the Imperial legon and temples...
If you have Bloodmoon there's also the East Empire Trading Company guild I can't recall if there's any more guilds in Tribunal.

I see, no I'm only playing regular morrowing for xbox, no expansions. So I've pretty much screwed myself then... Oh well, I'm only level one so I can always start over! :)

I'm trying the Imperial Cult for the first time. It has three different branches you can go for. I'm trying the alchemy one - healer I think. I can't make a potion or cast a spell to save my life, but hey, at least I'm trying. My claymore does all the healing and alchemy I need anyway. *threatening voice*heh heh HEH.*/voice*
The Morag Tong are the 'ssins. Camonna Tong you can't join. Fighters Guild is pretty awesome the farther up you go.
Edit: but you should know, it has a direct interference with the thieves guild.

Yeah, if you're planning on doing both the Fighters' and Thieves' guilds join them both before you start doing missions. IIRC one of the Fighters' guild missions gets you to retrieve a book from someone in the Corner Club in Balmora, once you've done that you'll not be allowed to join the Thieves' guild but you won't be kicked out if you're already a member.

No, you'll get kicked out if you do that.
If you join both, you can only do the first handful of FG quests
at first without getting kicked out of the TG. If you then do
all of the TG quests, you can go back afterward and do the FG quests because you won't be assigned the one that gets you kicked from the TG.

I stand corrected.

Hmmm... What if i did all of the thieves guild quests, then joined the fighters guild? Would that work?
I just really want to try and explore all of the parts of Morrowind that I can without starting a second game, before I start really getting into Oblivion. Once I feel I've played the shit out of it, I'll be happy moving on to Oblivion.
