Heh - I started replaying the game immediatly, and am now in Hong Kong again.
:cheeky:
I played it for the first time last year, finished it, then straight away got the PS2 version and played that. I wish I'd played it sooner, my boyfriend bought it not longer after it came out, but I was a defiantly retro gamer then & didn't like first person games. I watched him play it all the way through though
Then I played DX:IW & decided I really should play the first one myself.

Great to live vicariously though you. People shouldn't have told you all that stuff though. Did you save Paul in your first play through? If so it's not as fun.
Which was your favourite ending?

Well, on the whole passage of time thing, you have to also note that IT'S ALWAYS NIGHT wherever you are. :erg: So, I'm sure more time passes than you realize.

So which one did you like better?

DX on PC, followed by DX on PS2 even though they completely messed up a lot of the levels which was bad, although it did make me play the game differently which was good. Then DX:IW.
I do want to play DX:IW again, but the beginning is so tedious I can't be bothered to do it. Wouldn't be a problem if I could copy the saved games from my original xbox to the new one and start from where it got more fun.

That's a beef I have with IW too. :(
In Seattle, you do so freaking much before you get to move on someplace else. More so, if you play naked (no biomods other than the first three you must install for something to get out of the lab) and you want to pay Sid Black to be your pilot, you make enough credits in all the side-missions of Seattle that even without the hack biomod, you still can earn/find enough credits to get you through most all of the game. :( The whole game was too front-heavy. Even Cairo wasn't as involved. Might have liked the game better if they put more stuff in the other places to make your time there more interesting.
Oh, and the constant "Go to ______?" transitions were annoying. Yeah, I know the game uses a lot more RAM to create the map, but geez. :(
Otherwise, once I got the Hellfire Boltcaster, it got real amusing. :ebil:
AAAAAIIIIGGGGH! I'M ON FIRE! I'M ON FIRE!

There were lots of bits I liked & that were fun, the problem was everything inbetween. I'm just glad my boyfriend has an xbox & at the time our pc was too old to run DX:IW after all I've heard about how difficult it is to get it to work properly.

You should also try ZODIAC campaign. It's very well made and has an excellent story :).
