Can someone tell me if the thief style light gem is still available for DX? All the links in this thread are dead, and I REALLY want to try it out.

I don't think so. It seems to have been the work of one person, and his website isn't active anymore. There's a chance that it could have been posted on one of the major DX sites, but I doubt it.
Basically what it was was the (
http://www.thieveryut.com) Thievery mod released a light-gem mutator for normal UT as a teaser years ago, and someone ported it to DX. I don't think it worked very well, actually, but I don't recall.

I've made it all the way into Area 51. Now my question is this: Inside the bunker entrence, there is a bloke on a platform which looks adjustable, and nearby is a tunnel with supplies which I cannot reach. Anyway to get to that tunnel?

If you have the run-fast aug on at least level 2, you can just jump up there. I don't think there's any other way. There's another place, in the Paris Metro (by the cathedral) which can only be reached in this way, too. If you have move-silent instead, don't worry too much - the law of diminishing returns has set in by this point, and you'll find most loot isn't worth the effort, anyway.
