I can't get around in this game. How do you jump? Can you jump? How do you pick things up? How do you interact with the world? How do you open doors?

P.S. I can tell that as soon as I learn how to play this game, I'll love it.

The last time I replayed UUW 1, about 2 months ago, it was suprisingly easy for me to get a hang of the controls again. Of course I've played the game before but the mouse + keyboard interface seemed much more familiar to me than those of other really old games. I hope you have as much fun with the game as I've had.

Arx looks promising because the developers seem passionate about creating a great game... with Looking Glass gone, one wonders(1) whether any official UW3 would just be a cash-in(2) on the name, and whether it would be developed by people who really had their hearts and souls in it.
(1) Cynical, I know.
(2) I'm not sure 'cashing in' on the name is actually possible after all this time. I imagine EA would look at how System Shock 2 fared (SS2 has possibly broken even by now, but it certainly wasn't a big hit despite the pedigree and the countless rave reviews) and just laugh at the notion of funding a sequel to an even older game.
