Hey Adam, I didn't intend to come accross as snippy in my last reply to you..::erg:
Yes I agree with, but you can never have too much knowledge. it dosent hurt especially when I have to dazzle the kiddies with my clever insights or valiantly defend potential criticism....
And yeah I know exactly what your referring too there is a saturation point, beyond which I/you loose motivation and interest. I got so caught up trying to explain my reasoning I overlooked the fact it was what I wanted. But that said, I'm not frivolous the price I got the OCZ for at the time was a steal.
All of the supplies I have referred to in this thread have been based around the single 12v rail design, which is inherently better than dual/quad rail designs. By association this demands better circuit design and quality of components, no one has to take my word for it just read the information that's out there.
That has always been one of my primary aims, that ocz psu (if it had been lasted) was the best balance at the time. I'm trying to keep the spend under a £150, but if I end up going for the as yet unreleased ocz-z1000 I`ll have to sacrifice that. But I'm hoping that Im not limited to just the Silverstone or the Nexus, more googling I fear...

1: You didn't come across as snippy from my prospective. Your more than good to go with me.
2: Yes and no. Good worthwhile [user defined] information, by all means. Knowledge as to what kind of beer Obama, Gates and Crowley will drink tomorrow, well...:eww:
3: I don't feel you need to dazzle anyone. On countless occasions you have used your knowledge and time to help a lot of folks here with questions/problems. So, I say :thumb: to you!
4: A lot of what was posted above I don't see as criticism. I see it more so as personal choice related to ones personal experiences related to ones past builds. As such, when you put forth certain statements, you can almost rest assured you'll be called out on it.
All my builds for I can't remember how many years have all been with PC Power and Cooling power supplies. They are not the best in terms of cost/benefit/performance wise compared to others but they sure are a top notch quality build. I've found that I can use a closer rated supply without any problems.
My old PC business card summarized my builds. " We don't compete with cheap"

When I plug my VS-II power supply in, it generates a high frequency buzz when the tuner is off, and seems to interfere with tuner readings especially resonance on the violin. Battery power readings work dandy.
Is this a problem in general or is it just my power supply?
Jeremy
Ok what is a VS-II..?

My guess it's a power amp. My younger son is into music big time. Gibson , mesa boogie etc..
Allorgalp more than likely had a problem and typed power supply yada yada... into Google or something and got this site as a hit.
Perhaps if he reads these replies he will come to the understanding this a a gamer forum and this power supply thread is related to computer power supplies.
Then again I could be off track. Perhaps he's a mad extreme over clocker whom uses dry ice or Liquid nitrogen for CPU cooling and is hell bent on using a older guitar power amp, with modifications of course, to power his oc'd to the hilt computer.
