Well if the finished product ends up being anywhere near that good I'll be impressed. In the great AR headset race my money is still on MS' Hololens, their (

I feel that AR gaming is even less likely to take off than VR. I think that many view gaming as escapism and immersing your self is big part of said pursuit IMO. You're not really achieving that by layering shit over your everyday IRL environment.

I would like to see an AR sport/game like lasertag or paintball, except, y'know, better. Go to a converted warehouse and blast away with/at my friends with rockets and fireballs and a HUD and stuff.

I don't think AR gaming will be much like video games. I mean sure, you could use it to (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134853&page=41&p=2269599&viewfull=1#post2269599) render and race RC cars around your house. Or have an RTS battle playing out on your living room floor. But gameplaywise those things wouldn't offer anything that regular videogames can't offer, and the novelty of just having that stuff happening in a real world environment would soon wear off. Rather I think AR could work best in augmenting more outdoorsy experiences, like if you don't have a tennis partner it could render an AI opponent for you to play against.

I think AR will be most used as a social platform, in the same respect FB bought the Rift. They should want this even more.
Think about the tech most integrated into life around you, the smartphone. AR will be an extension of that. It's probably for browsing online and chatting while you wait, maybe take a few photos, and you can still be walking around. And on the side, companies are probably going to be buying AR real estate so ads appear or shops add more to their surrounds. Gaming will be about as developed as FB gaming is.
Edit. I'm calling 1P and 3P shooters to take down pedestrians though, and the inevitable uproar that causes.

I can believe it's all in-unit. When the robot moves behind the table leg there is thin line of space on either side, so it's not 100% perfect. Also it's a super-short clip. Left on the cutting room floor is no doubt minutes worth of footage of the tracking
not working as well. However I read that at this point (
http://www.forbes.com/sites/theopriestley/2015/10/24/why-magic-leap-needs-a-dose-of-reality-to-succeed/) the unit is so big it has to be wheeled around on a cart. Not exactly the lightweight headset everyone is hoping for, yet.
