House Telvanni Council Members Quests - Neloth, & Dratha.
These two want me to give them two very nice items (robe of the drakes pride and the amulet of flesh made whole) for pitiful rewards (10 drakes and a weak spell abosorbtion amulet). I'd prefer to keep the items and not give them to the two council members - is this okay? What did everyone else do? I don't want to give them the items and then kill them later for them... because i dont want to kill such important members of my house and i want the items now not later when i can make my own (better) custom items.
I have a save before accepting the two council members chores and i don't mind in the slightest reverting to it; in fact i'd prefer to because i don't like having uncomplete journal entries etc.
Also i presume there aren't any 'disadvantages' to killing the previous owners of the robe and amulet?
The spell 'spell absorbtion'.
I was wondering if anyone might like to point out where this spell might be purchased?
Also if anyone could give me an estimate on how much spell absorbtion (points worth) an exquisite amulet can hold (constant effect) I'd be greatful.
Thanks :D

You can't make any item that comes near the power of Drake's Pride (max constant Reflect you can fit into a DTS is 4-5 or 0/1-8), it's the best robe in the game. Amulet of Flesh Made Whole is ok if you don't want to carry cure blight potions and you expect to be infected a lot, otherwise it's IMO a forgettable amulet.
Besides I can't see anything wrong with killing Neloth, his Mouth is an ok person but he is a bit too grumpy at times and he doesn't recognise me as the most important being in the wolrd :cheeky:
As for the two you convince into giving you the items (aka. kill), as long as you talk with them about the item there should be no trouble at all iirc.
Spell Absorption. Try looking for Vivec's Feast and Tranasa's Spelltrap in Sadrith Mora/Wolverine hall.
Reflect and Spell Absorption have the same base cost (10) and you can fit in either 2-2 or 0/1-3 on an exquisite amulet/ring.

I found a robe 15% Reflect, how good is that? I was a moron and didn't pick it up right away and instead saved.. and when I opened the chest again it was gone. So I guess it was a random thing? *shrugs*

Red: WK's got some very good points; also keep in mind that if your character would have no qualms in joining the power-mad and anarchistic Telvanni House, he should have no qualms dispatching people who give him such insulting rewards. Just make sure you do all of their Mouths' quests 1st, as Mouths disappear when their councilor is killed.
Myriad: Yup, most treasure chests are randomised, and they seem to be initialized when you open them.

Well yes i realise that to get to the top of the Telvanni I have to 'eliminate' some people but i don't want to if I can get away with it...
I think i'll just choose not to do their quests and just go get the items myself from the people i know to have them...
Tip: Before giving your mouth the quest which involves getting a Tel Naga Key go kill Berengeral in Tel Naga (who has the flesh made whole amulet) he'll have a key on him saving you killing anyone else for one.
In regards to the Robe of Drakes Pride i've since realised that on my dark elf i become immune to all fire based attacks (it is 75% immunity to fire on dark elves isn't it?). Also being an atronach the other two constant effects become very useful... I suppose the robe is better than i gave it credit for.
I've done all the quests except Neloth's and Dratha's I'm just doing the odd quest while my stronghold is being built so i can (eventually) get the last two aryon quests.
Random Chest Items -
On a visit to Pelagrad with a previous character i went to one of the little cottages with a basement and proceeded to see what i could plunder. In the basement i found a enchanted ring in a chest which had a ranged fire attack which when i fired had a blast that was larger than my screen! Unfortunately when i went back up stairs it was obvious the blast had gone through the floor of the cottage and injured the occupant who was very upset about it. I decided to reload the game but when i went back to the chest in his basement the ring wasn't there. :(
By the way if you have 100% fire immunity can you walk on lava without being harmed?
Cheers :)
