If you have killed Dagoth Gares and have not contracted corpus and your journal has not updated. Do the following:
in the debug window type the following:
Journal A2_2_6thhouse 50
space between journal and A2_2_6thhouse
space between A2_2_6thhouse and 50
this WILL update your journal but will not give you the corpus disease, however you will be able to get cured and continue with the quest, and Casius will recognize that you killed Dagoth Ganes
For additional journal entries, simply:
1. Open The Elder Scrolls Construction Kit
2. Click the manila Open folder
3. Under TSE3 file heading, make sure Morrowind.esm has an X in the box next to it. Double click the box to place an X, then click OK.
4. Now click the white text balloon , it's between the FOG icon and the Pencil icon.
5. Under the word Dialogue at the top left corner of the window that just opened look for the right/left horizontal scroll arrow. Click right until you see Journal selected. The only thing highlighted should be "11111 test journal"
6.Simply look through the text actions and journal entries and use to fix any part of the game that you may be stuck at.
ALWAYS type the debug command as such:
1. Journal
2. 11111 test journal
3. Disp/Index # (each journal entry you click under the left journal column should display a list of journal entries to the right under Info/Response and have a numeric symbol next to it)
Example: Journal 11111 test journal 10

How would you not catch the disease... it's scripted to add the disease to your character.

Alternatively there is a small unofficial plug-in at morrowind summit which fixes the bug.

When I used this command, I didnt have the icon as one would normally have when contracted "corpus" and when I approached npc's, they didn't shun away as they normally do. I think it just serves as a work around.
The plugin that you refer to is great for the corpus issue, however i have seen other instances when the journal would not update, therefore this might be helpful to some :thumb:
