Sorry to bump this, I found it randomly while browsing ^_^

As a christian, I feel inclined to post my view on this:

While in America, as it stands, we do have freedon of speech, the collision of various different religious and beliefs causes us to always be in some kind of disagreement. This is what we are considering as a normality, even in most other countries were freedom exists. What that family is doing is freedom rights. Them claiming to be Christian, yet saying God hates you, Hates america, etc. is not what the truth is. I wish they would have protested, but had a more biblical understanding.

Im straying ..

God loves the person, He hates the sin that the person created. Only through God can this world be saved, by denying him then this world becomes condemned. If their is to be a saving grace, their needs to be an understanding of God's word, to understand how to set forth the word in a better way. How are they going to reach the people who dabble within this sin of homosexuality if all they are saying is "God hates you!", because that comment is a blaint contradition to that which His word plainly says. AS long as they keep making blaint ocmments such as that, they are not going to reach the people, and people will become more inclined to stay away from what God's word says.

When I watch them, how they protest, it upsets me. I don't feel any of God's word going forth, which is what they claim they are doing, as a "Christian" group. This is the exactly the kind of deceit that the Bible has warned about. Homosexuality is wrong. People know that. They choose to do it anyways. This is what is caused by an undisciplined nation, of people who have no regard for the natural order of the world that God himself created. Honestly, Ive always seeen it as homosexuality in a person is more or less them giving into the weak part of them, and doing that which they know is wrong, but almost like the feel of rebelion before the discipline, or worse ...

I just pray that that family will understant that all they are doing is turning people away from God, cause all I got from them is that God hates you, unless you change your way. That is not true. God loves you, regardless. He hates the sin. That is where they are incorrect with their arguement.

The thing is, once you start on the "homosexuality is a sin" tangent, then "God hates homosexuals" isn't a massive step away.


I don't think anyone knows that homosexuality is wrong. There's a lot of unreconstructed morons who think it's wrong, but since when was opinion = fact?


I think it's pretty much proven beyone a doubt that nobody "chooses" to be gay. You can argue that following through on homosexual instincts is choice, I guess.


That's how I feel about religion.


I admire the Phelps' honesty. Sending someone to Hell to be burned in fire for all eternity is an act of hatred, not love.
