I am disappointed that they have received so much media attention, even as much as this post. If everyone completely ignores them maybe they will give up. But, people love a good arguement so their movement might just grow. Then again, if you are not in their incestuous family you probably cannot join their cause. I am also really surprised no one has just drove over the top of them yet. There actions and speech are in poor taste, but what really gets my emotions in a bunch is the protesting at funerals. Funeral protests are completely unacceptable no matter what the constitution allows.
What I can't figure out is why this woman singled out gays. There are people who do things that get them executed and put in jail for life, yet she targets a segment of the population that actually helps to reduce procreation and probably produce fewer criminals. Whereas this crazy woman has popped out eleven children, who might have eleven children each. That's 121 more of them. Then if they all had eleven children: 1,331 little haters, and so on...

So you guys actually think it is socially okay to fuck with people at a funeral? I agree that it is their freedom and right to express themselves, but to protest someone who is dead and has been killed to "protect" the freedoms of America is pretty much unacceptable to me. Especially when they are making slanderous statements about the said dead people. They have no proof of them being gay because they fought and died in a un-just war. Besides, what the constitution and bill of rights allow is what has been determined to be socially acceptable by the majority. So if the majority decides that you shouldn't stand next to a funeral in progress and wave "soldiers are gay and eat shit signs," then it is reasonable to believe that this lady if fucked in the head, and should be dragged kicking and screaming down the street after she has been tarred and feathered.
Convict- Why bother thinking my bolded statements? It's just commchat.
fett- you guys have deleted some of my posts, so don't lecture me about taking away freedom of expression. Of course this will possibly lead to a completely separate arguement.
Off to work I go ha ha! :cheeky:

I agree that funeral protests are unacceptable in the sense that they inflict undue pain on the already suffering friends and family. However, when/if the deceased and the memorial service is being used as a symbol for any cause - just or unjust- peaceful protest is a constitutional right. As much as I'd like to punch any funeral protester in the face for being a general twat, revoking the right to protest anything is a very slippery slope.

Anyone feeling that strongly about the protest should protest the protest.

I must concede that revoking certain rights is a bad idea. I suppose that is why they just made laws requiring that protestors maintain a certain distance while protesting, rather than saying they could not protest at all. Do as you like, as long as it is out of eyesight, earshot, and arms length, so to speak. I am a big fan of allowing people to be really stupid, as long as they don't really bother others. I think that one must also consider that the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights does not protect everything that spews forth from the mouth; just most of it.
I wonder if anyone else has protested like this, with such zeal and vulgarity, in the past, such as during the Vietnam war. Does anyone know whether or not this lady had a new idea or if it has been done before?
Oddly enough I have started many a historical research paper at certain cemetaries, so I am always hanging around them and interested in what goes on at them. Even though the residents of cemetaries are usually pretty sedate, I find cemetaries, and the people who roam through them, exciting. :weird:
